• The role involves working on challenging problems across the open-source YugabyteDB, including areas such as CDC, performance, query planning, and optimization.
• Responsibilities include researching, designing, implementing, testing, and releasing new database features and enhancements.
• The position requires writing high-quality C/C++ code, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting issues related to statement planning and execution in a complex distributed system.
• You will identify and implement performance improvements and enhance the database administrator experience across various environments.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have 6-12 years of experience with compiled languages, specifically C/C++.
• A strong knowledge of database internals, compilers, and query planning/optimization is required.
• Familiarity with concurrency, multithreading, and synchronization is essential.
• A solid understanding of systems engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, operating systems, and databases, is necessary.
• A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science (or a related field) or equivalent experience is required.
