Description:
Velotio Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build scalable data infrastructure efficiently to meet growing data needs.
The role involves building applications for data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and loading from various sources using big data technologies.
Responsibilities include developing ETL/ELT pipelines, working with cloud services like AWS, GCP, Azure, and ensuring data quality and availability.
The position requires collaborating with different teams to develop a data platform architecture strategy and promoting data-driven decision-making practices.
Additionally, the Software Engineer will focus on operational excellence, test-driven development, and contribute to design documents and engineering wiki.
Requirements:
1+ years of data engineering or equivalent experience
1+ years of software engineering or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java
Experience with database design and maintenance
Strong understanding of big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Hive
Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Oozie, etc.
Hands-on experience with batch and stream data processing applications
Knowledge of best practices in developing highly available and scalable applications
Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Process-oriented with good documentation skills
