Description:
Sourcegraph is seeking a Software Engineer for their Developer Infrastructure (Dev Infra) team, which is responsible for building and maintaining tools and systems that enhance development processes.
The role involves improving build systems, implementing code quality tools, managing CI/CD pipelines, and streamlining development environments.
Within the first month, the candidate will understand team projects and contribute to team goals through code contributions and technical discussions.
By three months, the candidate will support engineers to increase productivity and contribute to making it easier for developers to build, run, and test products.
After six months, measurable improvements in build times, CI/CD stability, and developer experience should be demonstrated.
By the end of the first year, the candidate will lead efforts to scale developer infrastructure and shape best practices for build and CI/CD workflows.
Requirements:
Candidates should have strong experience with Bazel and familiarity with other hermetic build systems like Buck2 or Nix.
Extensive exposure to various CI systems such as Buildkite, GitHub Actions, GitLab Runners, and Jenkins is required.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Helm, Kustomize, Ansible, or Salt is necessary.
A solution-oriented mindset and a passion for developer productivity are essential.
Candidates should be comfortable working with multiple programming languages, with familiarity in Go and Typescript preferred.
