Remote Software Engineer, Developer Experience

Description:

• The Software Engineer, Developer Experience will be responsible for improving how developers understand and interact with Rye's APIs.
• The role involves developing software solutions to solve developer usability problems, creating engaging demos, and writing documentation.
• The position will require 60% software development and 40% interaction with developer customers, internal engineering team, and business team.
• The engineer will work on building new SDKs and boilerplate examples for Rye's systems related to internet commerce.
• Technologies used include GraphQL API Gateway, gRPC for service communication, Typescript Node.js services with NestJS, React, and Remix for the frontend.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in full stack engineering, with proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and relevant technologies for writing production code.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices and API design.
• Background in writing technical documentation or a portfolio of written content, demonstrating a passion for helping developers succeed.
• Ability to simplify complex technical topics for a broad audience and craft clear technical narratives.
• Experience with GraphQL API and gRPC backend systems, with a focus on helping users develop an accurate understanding of the technology.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and become a trusted advisor.
