Description:
Equilibrium Energy, a clean energy startup, is seeking a Software Engineer, Digital Platform (Staff / Sr Staff) to contribute to the development of a digital native power company operating in the clean energy sector.
The role involves designing, building, and maintaining the digital platform used by Equilibrium’s development teams and empowering critical developer workflows.
Responsibilities include defining and advancing EQ's "Golden Path" for the software development lifecycle, designing internal tools, libraries, and APIs, refining test, build, and deployment processes, expanding observability and monitoring stack, evolving infrastructure using best practices, and mentoring other engineers within the Digital Services group.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for clean energy and fighting climate change, a technical degree or equivalent practical experience, 8+ years of relevant work experience, deep experience in software development (preferably Python), familiarity with automated CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), AWS cloud services, and agile methodologies.
Nice-to-have skills include energy industry experience, expert-level experience with Terraform/AWS/Kubernetes, and experience managing Databricks and/or Snowflake at scale.
Requirements:
Passion for clean energy and climate change mitigation.
BS/Master's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of relevant work experience.
Deep experience in software development, preferably in Python, with a focus on writing readable, reliable, and well-tested code.
Proficiency in using automated CI/CD pipelines for testing, building, packaging, and deploying code.
Experience working in a monorepo and familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS cloud services.
Ability to adapt to cross-functional teams and agile methodologies.
Strong communication skills.
