Description:

Hightouch is seeking a distributed systems engineer to enhance the syncing engine relied upon by customers and engineering teams.
The role involves applying expertise in distributed systems, performance optimization, and troubleshooting to improve the movement of large volumes of customer data.
Engineers will have high levels of ownership and autonomy, managing projects from inception to completion and collaborating directly with customers to address scaling challenges.
Key challenges include optimizing sync speed for data transfers to platforms like Facebook and Snapchat, developing real-time streaming syncing capabilities, ensuring scalability and reliability amidst rapid growth, enhancing the Personalization API for low latency responses, and supporting a multi-region and multi-cloud infrastructure.
The position is senior-level, focusing on impact and growth potential rather than years of experience.
The salary range is $180,000 - $260,000 USD per year, with location independence due to a remote-first policy, alongside meaningful equity compensation.

Requirements:

Candidates should have a passion for solving complex technical problems that deliver real value to customers.
Experience with distributed systems and high-scale systems is essential, or a strong desire to quickly gain this experience.
Applicants should have built syncing engines capable of processing terabytes of data daily in a scalable manner.
Experience in creating event collection or data streaming services that support critical company operations is required.
Candidates should have managed systems that have scaled significantly and contributed to their growth.
