The Software Engineer will work with fellow engineers to design, review, and build well-crafted software.
The role involves collaborating with government partners and contractors to architect, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements to existing systems.
The Software Engineer will work in an agile manner to efficiently deliver new features that meet user needs.
Responsibilities include writing and implementing code, performing local testing, writing technical specifications, and reviewing pull requests.
The engineer will also implement and test updates for design systems, identify solutions to blockers, and collaborate with internal and external engineers.
Participation in standup meetings, biweekly retrospectives, and sprint demo meetings is required.
The role includes sharing expertise with others and interfacing with clients to provide project updates and propose solutions.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years of experience developing software in a team environment, preferably with distributed systems.
Experience with EDI Gateways, Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC), and claims systems is required.
Proficiency in Java and Python is necessary.
Candidates should have meaningful experience working on web-based systems, both front-end and back-end.
Experience with large-scale applications and systems is essential.
An adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset is required.
Candidates must possess knowledge of engineering fundamentals and architecture.
Expertise in developing well-crafted software and excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
Experience with modern web development frameworks and designing scalable, available, and performant application architectures is required.
Candidates should be self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision, and have previous experience as a software engineer.
An aptitude for giving and receiving feedback, experience with automated testing, and knowledge of code quality tools such as Linter are required.
Experience with system design that supports high usage is necessary.
