Remote Software Engineer, Emerging Products (AI/LLM)

Description:

• The Software Engineer supporting Emerging Products at Formation Bio will be responsible for developing innovative software solutions that leverage AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate the drug development process.
• The role involves collaborating with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to build and implement systems that enhance teams' capacity to make strategic drug development decisions efficiently.
• Responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying software solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance of software systems, and rapidly iterating on proofs-of-concept to validate and evolve software solutions.
• The position requires acting as an internal evangelist for AI and LLMs, providing expert guidance and insights to other teams within the organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, with a focus on launching and scaling new products in a 0-1 setting.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders from diverse disciplines.
• Experience with AI technologies, particularly in LLMs and machine learning.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern software deployment processes.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is a plus, but not required.
