Description:
Tecton is seeking a Software Engineer for their Foundations team, which focuses on creating building blocks for high-quality software development.
The role is remote, with options in New York, NY, and San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities include optimizing the inner development loop for Tecton engineers, enabling fast builds and high-quality local development.
The engineer will define and drive the adoption of core technical standards across Tecton, refining the use of fundamental technologies such as Bazel, linters, dependency injection, and logging.
The position involves architecting Tecton’s Testing Pyramid, designing test abstractions that run quickly while providing high-fidelity regression signals.
The engineer will evolve product platforms that address product-building challenges shared by multiple teams, including database design, serving infrastructure, and task execution frameworks.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining software systems, with expertise in building platforms, frameworks, or tools for other software engineers.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required, along with the ability to write detailed technical specifications.
Experience with at least one of the following cloud platforms is necessary: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Familiarity with technologies such as Python, Kotlin, Bazel, Kubernetes, gRPC, and Postgres is preferred, but not mandatory.
A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required.
Benefits:
The estimated US base salary range for this position is $189,000 - $231,000 annually for employees based in California and New York.
