Remote Software Engineer, Frontend (Upfunnel Messaging)

Description:

• Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Upfunnel Messaging team, responsible for building and maintaining the platform for serving promotional messaging on partner merchant sites and affirm.js.
• The team's goal is to enhance the consumer experience by providing timely, relevant, and personalized messaging during the shopping journey and simplify merchant integration.
• The Software Engineer will work on optimizing and scaling Upfunnel messaging tooling and flows, enabling experimentation, prototyping new ideas, and building relationships with cross-functional teams.
• The role involves partnering with Tech leads, driving project definition, design, alignment, estimation, delivery, and maintenance, while actively contributing to creating an inclusive workplace environment.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of previous engineering experience.
• Experience in building and maintaining complex front-end systems with cross-browser support.
• Proficiency in modern front-end tech stack including Javascript, Typescript, React/Redux, ES6, Webpack, and CSS3.
• Familiarity with Javascript testing frameworks (jest, webdriver.io, playwright) and monitoring/alerting systems (sentry.io, rollbar, chronosphere, kibana).
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders from Product, Design, and other Engineering teams, with strong attention to detail and focus on engineering resilience.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with humility and self-awareness to learn and grow.
