Remote Software Engineer – Full Stack

Description:

• Empirico, a biotechnology company, is seeking a talented software engineer to build scalable data systems and applications for discovering new medicines.
• The role involves collaborating with a team of engineers and scientists to extend Empirico's internal data platform, including cloud-based systems and web applications.
• Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and enhancing critical applications, services, and infrastructure, as well as implementing scalable algorithms in a distributed systems setting.
• The software engineer will be expected to identify and solve problems across the technology stack, take ownership of code and subsystems, and maintain high standards of code quality, systems architecture, and testing.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of relevant software and data science projects.
• Strong technical skillset covering various technologies, programming languages, and paradigms.
• Sound knowledge of software design and architecture.
• Interest in the intersection of software engineering, genetics, and drug discovery.
• Experience in modern web app development, AWS, Spark, Scala, or other functional programming languages is a plus.
