Description:

  • Benchling is a biotechnology company aiming to accelerate life sciences research and development by providing tools for scientists.
  • The role of Software Engineer, Full Stack, Developer Productivity involves creating tools and frameworks to enhance developer experience and streamline workflows.
  • Responsibilities include owning projects from design to rollout, designing and implementing frontend and Backend for Frontend patterns, and building tooling for efficient development.
  • The position requires working closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to improve software development at Benchling.
  • Qualifications include 4+ years of software engineering experience, a product-first approach, expertise in web frameworks like node or python, problem-solving skills, and empathy for customers.
  • Candidates should be willing to work onsite in San Francisco or Boston office 3 days a week.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Ability to build software with a product-first approach and care about the impact of code.
  • Expertise in at least one web framework, preferably node or python.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to iterate on feedback.
  • Enjoy ownership and building key product components.
  • Empathy for customers and curiosity about their challenges.
  • Interest in learning about life science.
  • Willingness to work onsite in SF or Boston office 3 days a week.
