Remote Software Engineer - Grafana k6 Cloud Data (Remote, EST/Canada)

Description:

• This is a remote position for a Software Engineer focusing on Grafana k6 Cloud Data, specifically for candidates in the Americas EST timezones.
• The Reliability Testing department of Grafana includes Grafana Cloud k6 and Grafana Synthetic Monitoring, both based on the k6 OSS tool.
• The team is dedicated to creating open-source tools that enhance the developer experience and improve performance testing.
• You will work on Grafana Cloud k6, a commercial performance testing product that allows users to run performance tests at scale from over 20 regions worldwide.
• Your responsibilities will include developing, architecting, and operating large-scale distributed systems and storage solutions.
• You will participate in design reviews, code reviews, and collaborate with other teams to deliver cross-functional features.
• You will also contribute to documentation and educational content, improve application reliability, and participate in the On-Call rotation to ensure high availability of the product.
• You will have the opportunity to pair with a seasoned mentor to develop your skills.

Requirements:

• You should have a good understanding of DevOps practices, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Python is required, and knowledge of Go is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills are necessary.
• You should be enthusiastic about large-scale distributed systems and test automation.
• Experience with modern software engineering processes and practices is expected.
• While not required, experience with Go, JavaScript, AWS, the Grafana stack, event-driven systems, time-series data, and developing testing frameworks would be advantageous.
