Remote Software Engineer II (1 year contract)

Description:

• Moneytree is seeking a Software Engineer II for a 1-year contract in Tokyo to work on the LINK Data team.
• The role involves designing and developing ETL software for the data aggregation system used by major banks, fintech companies, and millions of individuals in Japan.
• The ideal candidate will enjoy solving complex problems, have a passion for quality, and be detail-oriented.
• Responsibilities include developing ETL pipelines, building web scraping and data parsing systems, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• The position requires using TypeScript and JavaScript, writing high-quality code, implementing CI/CD practices, and having experience with data processing techniques and ETL pipelines.
• Communication in English on a daily basis is essential.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript in a professional setting.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code and familiarity with OOP and functional programming.
• Experience with CI/CD practices, operating software in a production environment, and building ETL pipelines.
• Strong background in data processing techniques and making technical and cost tradeoffs for optimal solutions.
• Advocacy for technical excellence and openness to change when necessary.
