Description:

  • Ophelia is a healthcare startup focused on providing evidence-based treatments for opioid use disorder (OUD) through a telehealth platform.
  • As a Software Engineer II, you will develop innovative, compliant solutions to support Ophelia's mission.
  • The role emphasizes front-end application development using Typescript, React, and Firestore on Google Cloud Platform.
  • You will be responsible for the full product cycle, from inception to results, and will work autonomously in a remote environment.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including clinicians and non-technical stakeholders, is essential to ensure products meet user and business needs.
  • Continuous improvement of systems through code reviews, debugging, refactoring, and system maintenance is expected.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and technologies to drive innovation in product design and development is part of the role.
  • Direct experience in OUD treatment is not mandatory, but knowledge of the healthcare space and regulatory compliance (HIPAA) is beneficial.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, preferably at a growth-stage company with bespoke systems.
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills for simple-to-moderately complex technical challenges, including debugging and performance optimization.
  • A product-minded orientation with a focus on customer needs and delivering solutions quickly.
  • Experience in true agile practices, including collaborative development and iterative development mindset.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to teammates and stakeholders.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and objective reasoning.
  • A passion for Ophelia's mission to make evidence-based addiction treatment universally accessible.
  • A background in a regulated industry, particularly healthcare or telehealth, is ideal but not required.
