Description:
Ophelia is a healthcare startup focused on providing evidence-based treatments for opioid use disorder (OUD) through a telehealth platform.
As a Software Engineer II, you will develop innovative, compliant solutions to support Ophelia's mission.
The role emphasizes front-end application development using Typescript, React, and Firestore on Google Cloud Platform.
You will be responsible for the full product cycle, from inception to results, and will work autonomously in a remote environment.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including clinicians and non-technical stakeholders, is essential to ensure products meet user and business needs.
Continuous improvement of systems through code reviews, debugging, refactoring, and system maintenance is expected.
Staying updated on industry trends and technologies to drive innovation in product design and development is part of the role.
Direct experience in OUD treatment is not mandatory, but knowledge of the healthcare space and regulatory compliance (HIPAA) is beneficial.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, preferably at a growth-stage company with bespoke systems.
Strong independent problem-solving skills for simple-to-moderately complex technical challenges, including debugging and performance optimization.
A product-minded orientation with a focus on customer needs and delivering solutions quickly.
Experience in true agile practices, including collaborative development and iterative development mindset.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to teammates and stakeholders.
A commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and objective reasoning.
A passion for Ophelia's mission to make evidence-based addiction treatment universally accessible.
A background in a regulated industry, particularly healthcare or telehealth, is ideal but not required.
Benefits:
The salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
Compensation is based on the level and skills required for the role, with a commitment to pay transparency and equity.
Opportunities for increased compensation annually based on company performance and target achievement.
The company values fair pay and does not vary compensation based on negotiation skills.
Ophelia is open to discussing compensation approaches and bands during the interview process.
