Description:

We are seeking a remote Software Engineer II with experience in the research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
The Software Engineer II will analyze user needs, develop software solutions, and update or enhance existing software capabilities.
This position is part of a mission-critical team advancing technology for our federal client’s next generation of environmental data.
Work is normally performed in a remote work arrangement.
Essential functions include analyzing user needs and software requirements, creating and managing containers, conferring with systems analysts and engineers, designing and modifying software systems, determining system performance standards, developing software testing procedures, monitoring equipment functioning, and managing configuration management processes.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates must have 6-8 years of Software Engineer experience.
Proven experience in the development and implementation of software applications is necessary.
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices is required.
Candidates should have experience with OpenShift for containerization and Kubernetes.
Strong scripting language skills are required.
Experience with software configuration management (SCM) concepts and methodologies is necessary.
In-depth knowledge of branching, merging, and baselining strategies is required.
The ability to work well with others, collaborate, and communicate effectively is essential.

The base salary range for this position is $104,079 to $146,713, determined by various factors including experience, education, and market conditions.
