Description:

Pinterest is seeking a Software Engineer II to build out the backend for Pinner-facing features that enhance user inspiration on the platform.
The role involves contributing to and leading the product development process from ideation to implementation and release.
Responsibilities include rapidly prototyping, running A/B tests, and architecting scalable solutions for millions of users.
The engineer will partner with design, product, and backend teams to create end-to-end functionality and suggest new product ideas and features.
Automated testing will be employed to ensure high technical quality in the features developed.
The position requires designing, developing, and operating large-scale distributed systems and networks.
The engineer will work with Engineering customers to understand and address new requirements efficiently.
The role also focuses on improving the developer process and experience throughout all phases from coding to operation.

Requirements:

A Master’s degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a closely related quantitative discipline with two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related field, OR a Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign equivalent) in the same fields with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience.
Special skills required include proficiency in Python, Java, Data ETL, recommendation infrastructure, Git, AWS, Spark, Javascript, SQL, Hadoop, PyTorch, and distributed systems.
Any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience is acceptable.
Telecommuting is permitted.

The salary for this position ranges from $195,000.00 to $244,872.00 per annum, along with standard company benefits.
The position is also eligible for equity.
