Description:
Kueski is seeking a Software Engineer II - Backend to join their team in Mexico, working remotely.
The company is dedicated to improving the financial lives of people in Mexico through innovative financial services, including buy now, pay later (BNPL) solutions.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and supporting web services that form the core functionality of the financial ecosystem, collaborating with other teams to align with the company's technological vision.
Key responsibilities include understanding challenges, designing and implementing solutions, mentoring other software engineers, promoting best practices, and ensuring the team remains focused on project objectives.
The position also involves learning and improving technologies, troubleshooting bugs, conducting code reviews, monitoring systems, participating in technical interviews, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience as a backend software engineer.
Proficiency in software design patterns and designing architecture solutions with microservices.
Familiarity with A/B testing, progressive rollouts, and optimizing backend services performance.
Experience in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, and JavaScript.
Knowledge of integrating and designing APIs, deploying and maintaining software products in production, and delivering solutions through multiple iterations.
Ability to identify root causes, troubleshoot bugs, and consider non-functional requirements from the design phase.
Nice to have skills include Ruby, Swagger, AWS, Github actions, Kafka, and REST.
