Description:
The Software Engineer II will report to the Sr Engineering Manager, Chapter Lead and will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of McDonald’s Digital Technology software.
The role involves working in a software development squad for restaurant products to support the design and development of new functionality and items related to technical debt.
Responsibilities include ensuring product requirements, features, and backlog items are reviewed and understood as part of Sprint planning.
The engineer will actively participate in assigning story points (effort estimations) to the software development work.
The position requires verifying software through unit tests, integration tests, code reviews, and frequent customer demonstrations.
The engineer will provide feedback on what went well and what could be improved during retrospective reviews.
Frequent progress updates to the direct manager and other stakeholders are also part of the role.
The salary range for this position is $96,230-$135,925 per year.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience with programming experience in C#.
A minimum of 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems is required.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or GCP is necessary.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience, is required.
Strong knowledge of software development tools such as GIT, GitHub, JIRA, and Visual Studio is essential.
Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be hard-working, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
A highly quantitative mindset with great judgment and a passion for building a great customer experience is important.
The ability to take a project from scoping requirements to launch to delivery is required.
