Description:

You will be one of the developers on our US Courts team maintaining and improving a custom Linux distribution with an emphasis on application security, long-term reliability, and accessibility.
The team implements new features, tests releases, and provides technical support for the software.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and writing code, performing code reviews of other team members on the project, and debugging the software.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and improving a secure Linux distribution, implementing and debugging security controls such as apparmor and polkit, and administrating and improving package management solutions for nation-wide deployment.
You will customize a desktop environment and a small suite of applications to enhance security, maintain and improve GUI applications using Qt/QML and Python, and engage in full stack website development with Python and Django.
You will also provide tier 3 troubleshooting for enterprise customers via e-mail, with no pager or on-call rotation.

Requirements:

You must be proficient with Python and Linux administration, as well as Bash scripting.
You should be capable of clear and cordial communication with customers and writing maintenance-oriented code.
Strong system analysis and diagnostic skills of booting, networking, printing, and security issues are required.
Due to federal contract requirements, this position is only open to U.S. Citizens. Candidates must be able to complete a federal government onboarding process.

The salary for this position ranges from $134,000 to $166,000 a year.
