Description:

Scythe is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II with a strong foundation in traditional image processing techniques, sensor fusion, and machine learning integration.
The role is part of the Perception team, focusing on building off-road, real-time robot perception for the autonomous mower, M.52.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining robot software, optimizing algorithms for efficiency, implementing data extraction pipelines, creating testing frameworks, and maintaining documentation.
The candidate should stay updated with advancements in computer vision, machine learning, and programming languages.

Requirements:

A strong understanding of mathematical concepts relevant to visual-inertial odometry, sensor fusion, and 3D reconstruction, including linear algebra and non-linear optimization.
Proficiency in compiled programming languages such as C++, Rust, or Go, with a willingness to learn Rust.
Experience with Kalman filters, GNSS+IMU sensor fusion, and vision-based localization techniques.
Previous work with robots or resource-constrained platforms is preferred.
Familiarity with machine learning libraries like Pytorch and experience with vision-based machine learning models is a plus.
Experience in CUDA development for algorithm parallelization is advantageous.
