Description:

  • The Core Messaging team at Braze focuses on enhancing the performance and reliability of the company's most frequently used messaging channels.
  • Engineers are responsible for high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems and work closely with internal and external teams.
  • The role involves maintaining Braze's industry leadership in cost-effective scaling, competitive go-to-market timelines, and overall system uptime.
  • As a Software Engineer II, you will develop and maintain critical components of Braze's high-scale infrastructure.
  • You will take ownership of impactful features and drive them from concept to production.
  • The position requires working closely with a skilled, remote-friendly team to gain a deep understanding of the business, product, and technology.
  • Your insights and ideas for improving products, processes, and technology will be essential to the company's success.

Requirements:

  • You must have 3-5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer with a strong track record of success.
  • Experience in a collaborative team environment is essential, along with excellent communication skills with peers, teammates, stakeholders, and managers.
  • You should be able to work through project unknowns and ambiguity, leading efforts to bring clarity without sacrificing code quality.
  • A strong interest in owning large areas of technology architecture by understanding motivations, taking initiative, and proposing improvements is required.
  • Familiarity with scaling technical concepts such as database load, caching strategies, and performance optimizations is necessary.
  • You should have an interest in working with distributed architecture paradigms such as async processing, job queues, and eventual consistency.
