Description:
As a Software Engineer II at Stavvy, you will play a crucial role in the Engineering team, focusing on developing core backend capabilities to enhance the user experience.
You will work on a product that revolutionizes the mortgage industry by simplifying processes and transitioning towards paperless transactions.
Specifically, you will be part of a team reimagining Stavvy's workflows for a more cohesive user experience and developing a new message-driven service for internal and external notifications within the platform.
Responsibilities include writing well-tested, scalable code in Kotlin and Python, collaborating with cross-functional teams, testing and debugging code, improving system functionality and stability, and prioritizing feature requests.
You will participate in agile ceremonies, mentor team members, work on special projects, and contribute to the growth of engineering skills.
Requirements:
Creative and self-driven Software Engineer with 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, with a willingness to learn Python.
Understanding of modern web infrastructure and architecture patterns.
Experience in building services on a cloud platform, preferably AWS.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other SQL Databases.
Knowledge of Data Dog and interest in observability.
Ability to write complex backend code for scalable web applications.
Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative mindset, and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
