Description:

Going is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile to help build, launch, and iterate on their mobile app as their member base grows.
The role involves creating new ways for travelers to experience Going, collaborating closely with product and design teams to build innovative features, squash bugs, and craft future functionality.
The engineer will work with other engineering teams to implement cross-functional features and ensure a seamless user experience across all platforms.
In the short term, the engineer will become familiar with the code base, code style, tech stack, development and deployment process, and project management process.
They will partner with designers and product specialists to develop and refine a feature roadmap, collaborate with service engineers to establish APIs, and engage with mobile engineering peers for technical direction.
In the long term, the engineer will become an expert with the tooling, take ownership of end-to-end features, propose technical and product improvements, and advocate for engineering best practices.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years in professional software engineering and 3+ years of hands-on expertise with TypeScript and React Native.
A strong focus on performance, usability, and accessibility across platforms and devices is required, along with experience in writing and maintaining automated tests.
Experience mentoring other engineers or being recognized as an expert in components of their work is necessary.
Candidates should approach challenges with empathy and a passion for quality, possess clear written and verbal communication skills, and maintain high standards for their work.
Flexibility, open-mindedness, and a willingness to learn are essential.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work US hours.
Nice to have: Native iOS/Android module development experience with Objective-C, Swift, or Kotlin, experience building highly-available, scalable JavaScript web applications, and experience in a startup or small company environment.

The salary for this role starts at $140,000 plus equity.
