Remote Software Engineer II - Retention

Description:

• The Software Engineer II - Retention position at Rover involves working with the Retention team to build sitter tools and owner experiences that enhance the pet owner's experience on the platform.
• The team focuses on creating a smooth in-stay experience, developing lasting relationships between owners and sitters, and ensuring easy rebooking with trusted pet sitters.
• Initiatives include improving Rover Cards, introducing scheduled rebooking, and enhancing the communications platform.
• The technical stack includes Python/Django, React, and React Native, with opportunities to work on both frontend and backend projects.

Requirements:

• Enjoy building customer-facing products that enhance people's and pet's lives.
• Have a passion for API design, observability, and platform building.
• Willingness to learn and improve as a software engineer and share experiences with team members.
• Comfortable working across the entire system from frontend to backend.
• Experience with Python or another backend language, relational databases, and schema design.
• Strong focus on automated testing, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with product stakeholders, refine requirements, and drive projects forward.
