Description:
As a Software Engineer III at Reddit, you will be responsible for building and scaling high-traffic services that support Reddit's user experiences and innovations.
You will work on creating a stable, high-performance platform API for quick iteration on user-delighting features.
Your duties will include maintaining core services, ensuring industry-leading uptime and resilience, and independently designing and implementing software solutions.
You will also be involved in assessing and hiring new talent, mentoring junior engineers, and coaching them to enhance their skills and contributions.
Telecommuting is an option for this position.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline, along with four years of experience in a related field is required.
Proficiency in at least one high-performance language like Golang, C, C++, or Java is necessary.
Experience in large-scale development with continuous integration (CI) and deployment (CD) systems is essential.
Knowledge of operating services on Kubernetes, designing RPC APIs, high-scale service design and development, incident management, and debugging distributed services is required.
Familiarity with eventually-consistent systems, zero-downtime service deployment, and service observability and monitoring is a must.
Any suitable combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.
