Remote Software Engineer III, Android

Description:

• MyFitnessPal is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their engineering team, focusing on enhancing the MyFitnessPal Android app.
• The role involves assisting in the technical direction of the app and ensuring it meets customer expectations.
• Responsibilities include empowering and coaching team members, leading high-impact feature development for over 13 million users, and utilizing A/B testing for user experience improvements.
• The engineer will modernize the app's codebase while adhering to the product roadmap and improve code quality through unit testing.
• Collaboration with cross-functional product engineering teams to solve problems and simplify complex ideas into elegant solutions is essential.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in building, testing, releasing, and maintaining Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
• Experience with Jetpack Libraries and a strong advocate for clean code, good architecture, and testing practices is necessary.
• A holistic view of the product and experience working with cross-functional teams is essential.
• Candidates should have experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure for continuous delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with a willingness to learn and teach through collaboration.
• Substantial experience with Git in a team environment and experience working with relational databases is necessary.
• Comfort with RESTful APIs, experience with MVVM or MVI, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin Coroutines is required.
• Job location is preferred in Austin, TX, but remote work is open.
