Description:

Shippo is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Core Enablement Team, which focuses on identifying and solving hidden problems in the software ecosystem to enhance the reliability and performance of shipping APIs.
The role involves designing and implementing reliable, maintainable, and scalable services in collaboration with teammates, contributing to system architecture discussions, and ensuring stable deployments that meet functional requirements.
Responsibilities include promoting microservices and efficient data models, enhancing the CI/CD pipeline for automated testing and safe production releases, monitoring and improving system performance, and collaborating with business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
The engineer will also participate in peer reviews and testing, provide on-call support for system incidents, and champion best practices in testing and automation.

Requirements:

Candidates must demonstrate leadership and influence by contributing to team-level technical direction and taking ownership of engineering solutions within their immediate scope.
A strong understanding of scalable system and API design is required, along with proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java, and experience with MVC frameworks.
Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential for conveying technical concepts to peers and stakeholders and participating in code and design reviews.
Candidates should have an advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, and possess advanced English fluency with strong communication skills.
