Description:
The Membership team is responsible for building and maintaining systems that grant different levels of benefits for users.
The team is directly tied to one of the main streams of revenue and prides itself on quality code, service reliability, and teamwork.
Daily work includes payment provider integrations (Credit card, Paypal, iTunes App Store, Google Play, Roku, etc.), customer support, marketing initiatives (promotional coupons and gift access), and assisting growth opportunities (analytics and reporting).
The services process millions of subscriptions in a highly secure, distributed, and scalable environment that evolves to meet user needs and privacy standards.
The Software Engineer III will report to the Engineering Manager of the Membership team.
The position is open for applicants in Culver City, CA, San Francisco, CA, Dallas, TX, or US-remote.
Requirements:
A strong understanding of computer science principles and design patterns is required, with education ranging from a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields to alternative education, training, bootcamps, or certifications.
Candidates must have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, with significant experience in backend development for large-scale systems.
Experience in distributed systems or microservice architecture, handling complex system integrations and scalability challenges is necessary.
Expertise in Typescript and proficiency in Node.js or Golang is required.
Experience with databases such as MySQL/PostgresDB/MariaDB/MongoDB is essential.
Familiarity with AWS/GCP and technologies like API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, and EKS is needed.
Willingness to be on-call on a rotational basis to address incidents quickly is required.
Ability to write and assess clean, functional, high-quality, and testable code for projects is necessary.
Experience designing and implementing subscription-based models, including billing cycles, recurring payments, and churn analysis on a large scale is required.
Candidates should be self-managing, able to efficiently take projects to completion, and possess a positive, proactive attitude with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
