Description:
The Software Engineer III, Storage position at Reddit involves a mix of software engineering and cloud engineering to automate the operation of the production infrastructure.
Responsibilities include working with product teams to enhance Storage technologies, improve data models, data access patterns, and analyze/tune the Storage stack for better performance.
The role requires troubleshooting and analysis to address scalability issues and changing workloads.
Collaborate with a team to create and maintain the foundational platform for Reddit’s infrastructure.
Develop workflows to automate operational tasks for the critical Storage infrastructure.
Write software in Go and Python to enhance the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit’s products.
Provide feedback on the technical and strategic direction of the Storage infrastructure.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in developing internet-scale software, preferably in infrastructure roles.
Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages like Golang, Python, Java, or C++.
Prior experience with Storage technologies such as Redis, Memcache, Cassandra, Postgres, MySQL, or Zookeeper is advantageous.
Experience in operating large-scale critical infrastructure systems with a focus on automation and workflow development, including on-call responsibilities.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with a service-oriented team and company.
