Remote Software Engineer - Infrastructure Services

Description:

• Orkes is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure Services to lead and implement DevOps and site reliability practices within the engineering organization.
• The role involves collaborating with engineering and customer-focused roles to understand infrastructure requirements and customer pain points.
• Responsibilities include establishing a vision and roadmap for software infrastructure in terms of security, scalability, and operational costs.
• The Software Engineer will work on automating workflows, building a robust software architecture, and resolving infrastructure concerns for customers.
• The position requires experience in architecting and leading best practices in operating large-scale systems, knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and coding experience in languages like Go or Java.
• The successful candidate should possess excellent collaboration and communication skills, be self-motivated, proactive, and able to navigate ambiguous situations independently.

Requirements:

• Experience architecting and leading best practices in operating large scale systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of at least one major cloud provider - AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience influencing and leading best practices in compute, networking, and storage infrastructure.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• At least 5 years of coding experience in Go, Java, or other applicable languages, including writing concurrent code.
• Experience interacting with customers verbally and in writing.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to navigate ambiguous situations independently.
