As an infrastructure engineer, you will build systems and abstractions used by teams across the company.
You will join the Foundation team, focusing on improving developer experience, application observability, and designing architectural changes in critical backend components.
Responsibilities include backend systems (75%) and infrastructure (25%), which may vary based on various factors.
Key tasks involve analyzing, designing, developing, maintaining, and improving software infrastructure and platform capabilities.
You will lead complex projects to enhance production system responses and execute large-scale system changes to meet business objectives.
Collaboration with the CTO and other technical leaders is essential to set the vision for strategic development efforts.
You will work with various engineering teams to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
The role includes collaborating with the InfoSec team to ensure compliance, observability, and automation for platform security.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in building and managing large-scale, highly available, distributed web applications is necessary.
Mastery of a high-level programming language such as Go, Python, or JavaScript is essential.
Experience in solving scale challenges in complex distributed systems is required.
You must have experience owning technical architecture discussions and leading decisions for an engineering organization.
Experience in leading and mentoring engineers through technical projects and initiatives is necessary.
Nice to have: GitHub activity showing relevant contributions, knowledge of multiple programming languages, experience with IaC tools like Terraform, designing sharding configurations for databases, developing internal tools, and creating SLAs, SLOs, SLIs.
