Description:
- Currencycloud, a Visa company, is seeking a Java Engineer to work remotely from the UK or Netherlands.
- The Java Engineer will be responsible for implementing an industry-leading API that has processed over USD50 billion of cross-border transactions.
- The role involves working on a distributed system running on AWS, migrating applications to Kubernetes and Jenkins-X, and transitioning to a microservice-led event-based architecture using Kafka.
- Responsibilities include playing a key role in a cross-functional team, focusing on high availability, cloud-native, and microservice concepts.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in Java Backend Development.
- Proficiency in functional Java (versions 11+), REST, and Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban in cross-functional teams.
- Some knowledge of Docker, EKS, AWS (public cloud), RabbitMQ, and SQL.
- Nice to have: exposure and working knowledge of Kafka or similar event streaming tooling.
