Description:
Cloudflare is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Kubernetes to join their team on a mission to help build a better Internet.
The role involves working on critical internal services running on Kubernetes, including those managing Cloudflare's control plane, APIs, data analytics, and other tools for the global network.
Responsibilities include improving Kubernetes, Ceph, and Prometheus automation and tooling, designing scalable systems, managing resources efficiently, enhancing security measures, and contributing to open source projects.
The position requires collaborating with app teams, responding to incidents, and providing guidance on platform operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with production Kubernetes, configuration management frameworks, container runtimes, scripting languages like Bash and Go, IP networking, and source control.
Bonus points for experience in operating Kubernetes at scale, building platforms across multiple regions, and familiarity with various tools like Etcd, Prometheus, Ceph, and Vault.
Requirements:
Experience managing production Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.
Recent experience with configuration management frameworks such as SaltStack or Ansible.
Knowledge of container runtimes in Linux, including isolation, storage, and networking.
Proficiency in Bash, TypeScript, and Go programming languages.
Strong understanding of IP networking, routing, and iptables.
Excellent debugging skills in a Linux environment.
Familiarity with source control practices like branching, merging, and rebasing.
Ability to analyze complex problems, provide solutions, discuss trade-offs, and drive problem-solving efforts.
