Description:

  • The Software Engineer (L3) position at Twilio involves designing and extending large-scale data pipelines with real-time analytics capabilities for Twilio Voice & Video products.
  • The role requires partnering with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build and maintain a suite of Insights tooling and products.
  • Responsibilities include developing horizontally-scalable distributed systems, owning and maintaining services in a production environment, contributing to the R&D roadmap, and excelling as an engineer within the team.
  • The position also involves continuous evaluation of industry standards, techniques, tools, and trends to ensure Twilio maintains a competitive advantage.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in software development lifecycle and processes are required.
  • Strong knowledge of Distributed systems and modern Java or Scala, preferably Scala, is necessary.
  • Experience with technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Protocol Buffers, Airflow, and ElasticSearch for developing large-scale data pipelines is essential.
  • Proficiency in developing RESTful services, practical experience with cloud platforms like AWS, and familiarity with agile processes, continuous integration, and test automation are required.
  • The candidate should have strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills.
