The role of Software Engineer - L3 Support involves working with Linux-based infrastructure and applications across various layers of the stack, including bare metal, virtualization, containerization, storage, networking, OpenStack, and Kubernetes.
This position requires a passion for Linux and open source, as well as strong troubleshooting skills to resolve critical issues in the open source stack.
The role includes responsibilities such as resolving complex customer problems, maintaining relationships with various teams, participating in upstream communities, developing bug fixes, reviewing code, and improving processes and documentation.
The position is remote, with occasional international travel (up to 10% of work time) for team meetings and events.

Requirements:

Candidates must have an exceptional academic track record and a background in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
Experience with Linux and open source software is required.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux is necessary.
A strong drive to learn unfamiliar technology and tackle difficult issues is essential.
Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events is expected.
