Description:
Protegrity is seeking a Software Engineer QA Mainframe with 3+ years of relevant experience in software testing.
The role involves gathering requirements, setting up environments, designing, and planning automation and tests based on general guidelines both locally and on the cloud.
Responsibilities include creating test requirements, test plans, and test cases.
The engineer will design and develop automated tools or frameworks for optimized test coverage.
Collaboration with leads, senior and junior engineers, Product Owner, and Product Manager is essential to ensure test coverage and customer scenarios are included in testing.
The role requires proactive management of automation changes and planning for maintenance efforts.
The engineer will own the quality of their product area and be responsible for related deliveries to customers.
A good understanding of the overall product architecture is necessary, and the engineer will be part of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team across multiple time zones.
The engineer must manage tight schedules and adapt to changing requirements while supporting customer requests and providing Tier 2 level support.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 2-4 years of professional experience in Mainframe technologies, including COBOL and JCL.
A good understanding of DB2, VSAM, and REXX is required.
Candidates should possess a good working knowledge of z/OS operating system architecture and network configurations.
Exceptionally strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential.
Experience in working with client-server and multi-tier systems is necessary.
Candidates should have experience in SQL, configuring, and tuning databases such as DB2.
Knowledge and experience in DevOps on zOS are required.
Familiarity with IMS on z/OS and experience with z/Linux is necessary.
Prior experience supporting medium to large customers or projects is preferred.
Working experience in z/OS High Level Assembler (HLASM) and interfacing between HLASM and C routines is required.
Knowledge of communication protocols such as HTTP and TCP/IP is necessary.
Experience with Jira and Zephyr is required.
Familiarity with SCRUM methodology is preferred.
