Description:

The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining microservices that power Kong Konnect, the Service Connectivity Platform, with guidance from Staff and Principal Engineers.
You will work closely with Engineering and Product Management teams to develop software components that significantly impact customers and Kong's business.
Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining services such as identity, search, and provisioning.
You will design and implement solutions to technical problems of moderate complexity.
Participation in an on-call rotation to support services in production is required.
Writing automated tests to ensure code behavior and avoid regressions is part of the job.
Mentoring other team members is expected.
Additional tasks may be assigned by the manager.

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a team to develop, deliver, and maintain complex software solutions is required.
Expertise in Typescript and JavaScript is essential.
Experience in designing, prototyping, building, and debugging microservices architectures and distributed systems is necessary.
You should have experience developing and supporting a large-scale SaaS platform.
Expertise in designing and writing APIs, along with a firm grasp of API lifecycle management, is required.
Proficiency in data modeling in relational and no-SQL databases is necessary.
A working knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes is expected.
Understanding of and experience with git and GitHub workflows is required.
Expertise in test-driven development and automated testing is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

Compensation varies based on location, role, skill set, and level of experience, with a typical base pay range for this role in the US being CAD $123025-$172330.
