Remote Software Engineer, ML Ranking Platform at Reddit

Description:

Reddit is a community-driven platform that hosts open and authentic conversations, with over 100,000 active communities and approximately 82 million daily unique visitors.
The ML Ranking Platform team is responsible for building and running services that provide contextualized and personalized ranking on Reddit.
As a Software Engineer for the ML Ranking Platform, you will develop robust, scalable, and reliable ranking systems.
You will own projects from ideation to production, collaborating with Backend Architects, Product Managers, and Machine Learning experts to enhance personalized ranking systems.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing backend ranking systems, exploring new technologies for personalized ranking, and writing efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.

You must have at least 2 years of experience as a software engineer developing backend platforms at scale, using Go, Python, C++, or any object-oriented programming language.
Additional knowledge of GraphQL, REST, HTTP basics, and GRPC is required, along with the ability to design maintainable APIs.
Experience in designing and implementing performant, stable, and maintainable API interfaces is necessary.
Familiarity with software engineering best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation is essential.
An entrepreneurial spirit is required; you should be self-directed, innovative, and thrive in fast-paced environments.
A BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience is mandatory.
