Remote Software Engineer (NodeJS)

Description:

• We are seeking a talented and experienced software developer with expertise in Node.js and Nest.js.
• The position is remote, based in Portugal, and reports to the Software Engineering Manager.
• You will play a key role in developing and implementing innovative software products.
• Collaboration with product managers, designers, QA analysts, and fellow developers is essential.
• Your contributions will drive quality solutions for our customers while mentoring and guiding team members.
• Daily responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions primarily using Node.js and Nest.js.
• You will mentor development teams to uphold high standards of code quality.
• Working with team leaders, product managers, and developers from the discovery phase to solution delivery is required.
• You will translate business requirements into clear technical requirements.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code is expected.
• Developing and maintaining unit tests to ensure reliability is part of the role.
• Participation in code reviews and promoting team knowledge-sharing is necessary.
• You will create and maintain thorough technical documentation.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• You must have 4+ years of experience in software development with Node.js or TypeScript.
• A strong understanding of loosely coupled architectures is necessary.
• Proficiency with Git, Linux, and Agile methodologies is required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail are essential.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with remote teams are required, with fluent English being necessary.
• Leadership qualities with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset are important.
• A passion for learning and sharing new skills and technologies is expected.
• Knowledge of React.js, Apache Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures is a plus.
