The role involves working on uv, which has achieved tens of millions of downloads per month and hundreds of millions of network requests per day to the Python Package Index (PyPI).
Responsibilities include low-level optimization work and high-level user experience design, making it suitable for those who enjoy writing high-performance Rust and thinking about the future of the Python developer experience.
Open source maintenance is a significant part of the job, which includes engaging with the community, reviewing pull requests, debugging issues, and contributing to a culture of open development.
Ideal candidates will have experience in Rust, Python, open source, or developer tools, although deep expertise in all areas is not required.
