Description:
As a Platform Engineer at Lucidworks, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, security, and performance of critical systems and services.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient infrastructure.
Your role will empower engineers by building tools that enable them to take full ownership of their deliverables.
You will define SLOs and monitor platform reliability and performance against these objectives in collaboration with multiple product development teams.
You will design, implement, and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions to detect and respond to incidents promptly.
Conducting post-incident reviews (PIRs) to identify root causes and recommend preventative measures will be part of your responsibilities.
You will work with multiple teams to plan for capacity needs, including forecasting resource requirements and scaling infrastructure as necessary.
Identifying areas for improvement and driving initiatives to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the SaaS platform will be essential.
Acting as a bridge between multiple teams, you will share knowledge and best practices as an advocate and enabler of site reliability engineering throughout the organization.
You will strive to optimize engineers’ efficiency by developing tools and processes that make things scalable and repeatable.
Aiming for complete automation in your work and leading developers to build scalable production solutions will be a key focus.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent real-world experience is required.
You must have 5+ years of professional experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role within a production environment.
Knowledge of infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform and a commitment to the infrastructure-as-code (IaC) approach is necessary.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations are essential.
An enthusiastic, go-for-it attitude is required; you should be proactive in fixing issues when they arise.
You should have a strong urge for delivering quickly and effectively, with the ability to iterate rapidly.
Being resourceful and willing to jump in, be agile/flexible, and leverage existing resources to accomplish goals is important.
You must be a team player, confident in collaborating with a diverse community of people and personalities across various backgrounds.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Empathy and care for all stakeholders of Lucidworks, including employees, customers, partners, and guests, are essential.
The ability to handle confidential information is necessary.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 a year, which may include multiple levels based on interview performance and experience.
