Description:
This is a remote position and candidates from Canada only are being considered.
The role is part of the Platform Capacity squad at Grafana Labs, which handles cloud service provider resources, scaling systems, and tooling.
Responsibilities include managing cost, cloudcost-exporter, dashboards, and discount management.
The squad also designs, develops, and operates internal monitoring systems to help engineering teams maintain SLOs using technologies like Prometheus and Alertmanager.
The successful candidate will help design, compare, and choose appropriate solutions for cloud service provider resource observability, create cost alerts, improve cloud-cost margins, enhance the reliability of autoscaling tools, and investigate unallocated resources.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of engineering or software development experience is required.
At least 1 year of experience working in a cloud environment is necessary.
Candidates should have a focus or interest in cloud engineering within a platform team.
Experience working in a Platform group delivering services to internal customers is essential.
Candidates should have experience or interest in implementing, integrating, and maintaining observability systems and processes.
Nice to have skills include experience with Karpenter, Docker Infrastructure, familiarity with Kubernetes administration, and knowledge of microservices, telemetry querying, visualization and reporting, shift-left observability, OpenTelemetry, and Python.
Benefits:
The base compensation range for this role in Canada is CAD 115,169 - CAD 138,203, with actual compensation varying based on level, experience, and skillset.
