Description:

Crunchyroll is seeking an experienced Roku Software Developer to join their Roku Engineering team in San Francisco, CA, or remotely.
The role involves developing, testing, and maintaining Roku channels and applications.
The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality streaming experiences.
Responsibilities include designing and optimizing Roku channels using BrightScript and SceneGraph, participating in code reviews, debugging issues, and contributing to continuous improvement.
The position requires a strong focus on unit and end-to-end testing to ensure reliability and rapid feature delivery.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of professional software development experience, with significant experience in Roku development.
Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Brightscript, Objective-C, Swift, and TypeScript is required.
Expertise in BrightScript, SceneGraph, and other Roku development tools is essential.
The candidate should have experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues and mentoring junior developers.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is necessary.
Experience with video streaming technologies, Agile/Scrum methodologies, automated testing frameworks for Roku applications, AWS or other cloud services, and Smart Devices is a plus.
