Description:

Crunchyroll is seeking an experienced Roku Software Developer to join their Roku Engineering team in San Francisco, CA, or remotely.
The role involves developing, testing, and maintaining Roku channels and applications.
The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality streaming experiences.
Responsibilities include designing and optimizing Roku channels using BrightScript and SceneGraph, participating in code reviews, debugging issues, and contributing to continuous improvement.
The position reports to the Engineering Manager for Roku and emphasizes mentorship for junior developers.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of professional software development experience, particularly in Roku development.
Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Brightscript, Objective-C, Swift, and TypeScript is required.
Expertise in BrightScript, SceneGraph, and other Roku development tools is essential.
Applicants should have experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues and mentoring junior developers.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is necessary.
Familiarity with video streaming technologies, Agile/Scrum methodologies, automated testing frameworks for Roku applications, AWS, and smart devices is a plus.
