Remote Software Engineer (ROR)

Description:

• The Software Engineer (ROR) position at Velotio Technologies involves designing and developing next-generation enterprise software products.
• The role includes leading teams of engineers, QA, and DevOps, working closely with CXOs at fast-paced startups, and having a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
• Responsibilities include reviewing and coding application development workflows, designing and implementing technical code for AWS/GCP deployments, introducing new services for automation, optimizing internal processes, driving long-term strategies, collaborating with teams, and creating solutions for customers at massive scale.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of hands-on programming experience in Ruby, Java, Python, Go, C/C++, Rust, or equivalent languages.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in a lead engineering role with a diverse and distributed team.
• Good understanding of configuration management systems (Chef, Ansible, Terraform) and cloud platforms in a SaaS environment.
• Experience in building and running modern full-stack cloud applications using public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in working with any RDBMS database like MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with software build and release tools like Jenkins, Rundeck, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
• Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, AKS, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in source control using Git and knowledge of branch strategies.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, Agile methodologies, software design lifecycle, and design patterns.
• Effective communication skills to articulate complex problems across different levels.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and rectify errors in code or product development workflow.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and concepts in the evolving field of cloud-native software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
