Description:

  • Broadvoice is looking for a skilled software developer with experience in Ruby on Rails.
  • The position is remote and based in Portugal.
  • You will collaborate with product managers and fellow engineers to research, design, implement, test, and deploy new software products and features using agile methodologies.
  • The role involves working with the latest in event-driven architectures (Kafka) and cloud-native deployments (Kubernetes) at scale.
  • Daily tasks include collaborating with product managers, QA, and engineers to develop new software products and features.
  • You will design and implement solutions based on high-level guidance and develop conceptual models of the problem domain.
  • The position requires working independently on, and possibly leading, projects of moderate scope.
  • You will translate business requirements into technical requirements and write automated unit, integration, and browser tests.
  • Participation in code reviews and contributing to team knowledge-sharing is expected.
  • Mentoring Junior Engineers is also part of the role.

Requirements:

  • A BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Ruby on Rails is necessary, although candidates with Node.js experience (using frameworks such as Nest.js) will be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with scrum/agile development methodologies is required.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Node.js, NestJs, or React.JS.
