Remote Software Engineer (Scala), Supply and Demand Team

Description:

• The Supply and Demand team at Wolt is responsible for automating the management of supply (courier partners online) and demand (customer orders) to ensure operational efficiency.
• The team's mission is to make Wolt cities efficient for customers, merchants, and couriers by creating tools and features that balance supply and demand.
• As a Backend Engineer, you will work on topics related to courier engagement and activation bonuses.
• You will collaborate with various teams like data science, product management, and operations.
• The team uses programming languages such as Python, Scala, and Typescript (React) and works closely with Data Scientists.
• This role can be based in Helsinki, Stockholm, Berlin, or remote in Finland, Sweden, Germany, or Estonia.

Requirements:

• Solid experience designing, building, and integrating quality software in Scala on a large scale within a complex domain with a focus on an event-driven approach.
• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, observability tools (e.g., Data Dog), and both SQL and noSQL databases.
• Dedication, pragmatism, positive attitude, willingness to learn continuously, and comfort working with real-world data.
