Description:
Vectra AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Emerging Technologies team within the Office of the CTO.
This role will focus on server-side, back-end, and API-integration responsibilities for ongoing research initiatives and prototypes.
The ideal candidate will collaborate on early-stage research and development while also working independently in their specialized area.
The role requires comfort with the ambiguity of open-ended research while converging that research into concrete specifications and implementations.
Responsibilities include envisioning, developing, and testing prototypes to demonstrate feasibility and potential impact.
The engineer will transition prototypes from early-stage design into a long-term supportable state in collaboration with peers.
The role involves researching emerging technologies to identify innovation opportunities and promoting continuous learning and collaboration.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in software development, focusing on server-side and back-end development.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Rust is necessary.
Strong experience with API development and integration is essential.
A solid understanding of both traditional and non-traditional database technologies is required.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies is expected.
Experience working in an R&D organization is preferred.
Familiarity with machine learning and data processing frameworks is a plus.
