The Software Support Engineer role involves working with Linux-based infrastructure and applications across all layers of the stack, including bare metal, virtualization, containerization, storage, networking, OpenStack, and Kubernetes.
The position requires troubleshooting and resolving complex customer issues related to Ubuntu and other open source software.
Engineers will develop bug fixes, backport patches, and engage with upstream communities to ensure software quality.
The role is remote, with occasional international travel (up to 10%) for team meetings and events.
Requirements:
Candidates must have an exceptional academic track record and a background in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
Experience with Linux and open source software is essential.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux is required.
A strong desire to learn new technologies and tackle challenging issues is necessary.
Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events is expected.
